My daughter has moved back home to save money for the wedding. We played room switch-a-roo which through the house into chaos for several weeks while we got 3 rooms redone at once. Ugh... The house is almost back to normal with just several lingering piles of items needing to find a home.
I welcomed the New Year with a head cold. In fact most of the family that was together over the holidays got colds. Oh well, it was so worth getting together.
My gym membership is wonderful! I discovered deep water classes that use a water jog belt, which I just happened to get for Christmas. Basically you put the water jog belt on around the waist and get into deep water and jog. I wasn't too sure what to really do so I took a couple of classes and oh so much fun! And the best part was I got a really great lower body workout with no pain in my leg!!
Jump to this week... I had a doctor apt on Tuesday morning and received my first Synvics knee injection. It is an HA derivative that is a synthetic joint fluid replacement. I ca get one every 6 months. I had to take it easy for 48 hours.
Jump to 6am and I was heading out the door to go to the gym and whamo.... I slip on the ice and smash land right down on my bad knee. I just laid on the ice and cried. Cried big giant alligator sobbing tears. I mean seriously, enough is enough.
I headed back inside, wiped away the tears, blew my nose and grabbed the ice pack and Aleve and iced for several hours. Luckily, it seems that a bruised kneecap, a little soreness and a little swelling is the worst of it. I think that because I had my brace on it really kept the knee all lined up and protected things quite a bit.
I am blaming it on the crazy winter weather. One day 8 inches of snow, the next crazy winter thunder storms with tons of rain and that back into freezing with ice now everywhere.
Ok... On with life we go. I guess I am taking It easy for a couple extra days!

Oh my! Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteOhmigosh! Glad to hear the knee will be OK. I took a tumble off my horse on to my brand new replaced knee--fortunately OK--so I know all to well both the pain and the fear. My utmost sympathy.
ReplyDeleteThe Synvisc should help a lot. It's a good product. It helped my knees when I still had real ones. *S*
Feel better and take it easy. This winter's weather is as confused as I've ever seen it.
